Combat Sports - Wushu

Modern wushu is the competitive sport of traditional Chinese martial arts. It came into being in the People's Republic of China after 1949. The majority of the martial forms (taolu) presented in competition have been defined by government-appointed committees based on traditional forms. In the current era, wushu has become an international sport at the initiative of the International Wushu Federation (IWUF), which organises world championships every two years.
