Recommendations to improve and increase supply in Brussels

Perspective has carried out an inventory of swimming facilities in the Brussels-Capital Region, listing all the public swimming pools in Brussels, their opening times, prices, types of pool, etc. A series of recommendations have also been formulated, aimed at improving access to these pools and the management of the facilities, as well as increasing the number of facilities on offer.

Several federal, community, regional and municipal institutions responsible for sport, award grants as part of the development of sports policies in the Brussels Region (for facilities, federations, clubs, associations, the promotion of sport or its image, etc.).

Brussels Local Authorities (GLP)

Administration of the Brussels-Capital Region responsible for intervening in the financing of work projects for municipal sports facilities.

French Community Commission (CoCoF)

Administration responsible for promoting physical or sports activities in the Brussels Region. It is only responsible for amateur sport.

Vlaamse Gemeenschapcommissie (VGC)

Administration responsible for promoting physical or sports activities in the Brussels Region. The activities shall have to be organised mainly by Dutch-speaking NPOs with their headquarters in Brussels and are aimed more particularly at a Dutch-speaking public.

Federations

Sports federations are sports associations whose purpose is to bring together other smaller associations, usually sports clubs or regional leagues. Federations recognised by public authorities play a decisive role in the development of a sport by organising competitions and supporting affiliated clubs.

If a sports activity is not displayed, it means that no organisation is currently offering it on the site. The sport may also be included in another, more general category.

The data encoded in the database and which appears on sport.brussels is used by the Brussels Region to carry out territorial analyses on sporting topics. It may also be made available to the partners of sport.brussels (COCOF, VGC, Brussels Local Authorities, Brussels communes) for more specific analyses.
