Combat Sports - Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art, combat sport and self-defence system derived from Judo and Jiu-Jitsu techniques imported from Japan to Brazil around 1920. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu promotes the concept that a person can defend themselves against a heavier and stronger opponent by using appropriate techniques, especially by bringing the fight to the ground and applying choke, joint lock, or muscle compression techniques.
