Chess

The game of chess pits two players against each other on either side of a chessboard composed of sixty-four light and dark squares called the white squares and the black squares. Players take turns moving one of their sixteen pieces. Each player initially has a king, a queen, two rooks, two bishops, two horsemen and eight pawns. The point of the game is to inflict checkmate on your opponent, a situation in which a player's king is in check and has no more options.
