Dance - Rock

The term “Rock” in French is a contraction of the term “Rock 'n' roll”, and refers to the dances accompanying the music of the same name. The rock 'n' roll music of the 1950s is accompanied by various dances. Some of them have an earlier origin such as Lindy Hop, Jitterbug, 6-count swing now called 6-count Rock, Boogie Woogie (Germany), Be-Bop dance (France), Jive (England). Another dance was born barely a year after the creation of rock 'n' roll music, the four beat rock, which is the first couple dance danced with a basic 1, 2, 3 and 4 step.
