Combat Sports - Jujitsu

Jujitsu , which literally means the “art of suppleness”, groups together fighting techniques that were developed by the samurai. They taught samurai and bushis to defend themselves when they were disarmed in a duel or on the battlefield. These techniques are sometimes classified into four main categories: atemi waza (“striking techniques”), nage waza (“throwing techniques”), kansetsu-waza (“dislocation techniques”) and ne waza (“floor work”).
