Combat Sports - English Boxing

English boxing is a combat sport in which two opponents, of the same weight category and sex, meet in a ring, wearing padded gloves to limit the risk of cuts, and exchange punches, delivered to the face and chest. The fight is divided into time intervals, the rounds, separated by a minute of rest announced by a bell where the boxer can be advised and cared for if necessary. Whether in Olympic or professional boxing, boxers try to avoid their opponent's punches while trying to land a punch on him. Points are awarded for every punch considered clean, powerful and accurate. At the end of the fight, the boxer with the most points is declared the winner. Victory may also be achieved if a contestant disables his opponent (by knockout or KO), i.e. He is unable to get up and resume the bout after the referee's ten second count.
