Rugby - Touch Rugby
Touch (also called 'touch football' or 'touch rugby') is a sport in the rugby family that originated in Australia. Its rules are more similar to rugby league, from which it derives, than to rugby union. The primary goal of this sport is to score more tries than your opponent. To do this, the 6 players of one team can stop the progress of the other team simply by touching the opposing players (with one hand). Touches may be made on any part of the player or on the ball and are characterised by a complete lack of violence. As violent contact is not allowed, there is no tackle in the rugby sense of the word in Touch rugby. This means that Touch rugby can be played by a mixed group of players. The mix of male and female players is moreover highlighted in this sport and today represents its specificity.
