Rugby - Rugby Union
Rugby Union is played by teams of fifteen players on the field with substitutes. It is the most popular variant of rugby, a family of team sports, characterised by scrums and line-outs, pitting two teams against each other using an oval ball, played by hand and foot. The objective of the game is to score more points than the opponent, by scoring tries (giving the right to conversions), penalty goals or drops (kicks dropped in the course of the game). Nowadays, the try is worth five points and seven if it is converted, the drop and the (penalty) goal are worth three points each.
