Kin-ball

Kin-ball is a team sport, created in Quebec, which is played with a big ball by three teams of four. The aim is to serve the ball to one of the opposing teams so that the latter cannot retrieve it before it touches the ground. The team that has the ball (whether on serve or during play) chooses one of the opposing teams (usually the one with the most points) by calling it by its colour. Three players hold the ball so that the fourth player can hit it upwards or horizontally to a strategic point, that is as disabling as possible for the chosen team. Players of the designated team can use any part of their body to catch the ball before it touches the ground. If the designated team catches the ball, they throw it back to the team of their choice.
