Horse Riding - Dressage
Dressage is an Olympic equestrian sport discipline that stems from the tradition of classical riding. It is often considered as an art form, because the pursuit of the aestheticism of the movement plays a predominant role. The aim of this discipline is to develop the qualities of the horse or pony through a harmonious education. In contrast to the classic form of dressage, official competition does not involve "airs” above the ground, which most horses cannot perform due to their conformation. The competition focuses on ground dressage movements such as, at high level, piaffe, passage, extended trot, pirouette and canter foot changes. The movements presented can be done in all three paces: walk, trot and canter.
