Disc golf
Disc golf is a game based on the rules of golf. It is played with specific discs similar to frisbees, but usually smaller and heavier. These discs are thrown towards a target, which serves as a “hole”. There are regional and national competitions, with specific targets, metal baskets topped with a crown of chains to stop the disc arriving between the basket and the crown. A complete course generally consists of 18 holes, but there are 9, 12 and sometimes 27 holes. There is a wide variety of discs, divided into three categories: putters, approach discs, and drivers. There are also different types of drivers, depending on the distance to be covered, the wind and the difficulty of the “hole”.
