Dance - Contemporary

Dance, today referred to as contemporary dance, emerged in Europe and the United States after the Second World War. It follows on from modern dance and begins, for some, with the postmodernist currents. The common denominator of the different techniques of contemporary dance is a certain pursuit of the freedom of movement and of the body as well as interactions with other arts (theatre, video, literature, plastic arts, ...) and other scenic forms, particularly by embracing urban currents.
