Dance - Argentine Tango
The Tango is a social dance and a rioplatense genre (i.e. from the Río de la Plata, i.e. Buenos Aires and Rosario in Argentina, and Montevideo in Uruguay) born at the end of the 19th century. It typically has a very dramatic four two or four four rhythmic time signature. However, it is also performed to a wide range of tempos and rhythmic styles that vary greatly from one era to another and from one orchestra to another.
