Discipline

About the discipline: Jumping rope dates back to ancient times. We find detailed descriptions in writings from the Phoenician, Egyptian and Chinese civilizations. Numerous illustrations exist and demonstrate the universal nature of the traditional game of skipping rope. The history of Double Dutch is difficult to reconstruct because many versions exist, however we know with certainty that Double Dutch in its playful version was initiated 300 years ago in New York City by the children of Dutch pioneers.
