Athletics - Long-Distance Running
Long distance running or endurance running means running a distance of at least 5 kilometres and up to a marathon of 42 kilometres. Physically, the effort mainly uses the process of aerobic metabolism (energy production by oxygen consumption) and calls for a great deal of physical endurance.
