Athletics - Trail Running

Trail running, hill running or, more rarely, fell running, is a sport that involves running, over long or very long distances, in a natural environment, generally on dirt roads and hiking trails along plains, through forests or over mountains. Trail running is often shortened to trail. Most trail competitions involve steep gradients, some greater than others, consisting of ascents and descents, which require a different technique from running on the flat and a highly developed endurance.
