Combat Sports - Aïkido

Aikido is a Japanese martial art, founded between 1925 and 1969. Aikido is practised by women and men of all sizes and ages. The goal of the practice is to improve, to progress (technically, physically and mentally) in a positive state of mind. Only techniques that respect the partner are shown. The complexity of this art requires a high level of practice in its use in real combat. If it is true that the basic techniques were based on classical academic practices and were adapted to a combative style, but the fact remains that aikido is not a practice which aims first at street fighting but a martial art which prepares as much physically (flexibility, speed, musculature), mentally (to remain calm in all circumstances) as technically (to respect the safety distance, to find the opening, to place oneself, to manage several simultaneous attacks) to combat in any situation.
